thanx for the answer, but the work around your supposing does not make much sens. Imagine someone has two first names or an initial or a double name, and the bug is back. In fact that’s not a work around.
Actually the bug ist causing an error or caused by an error because the error is shown in the div class “ajax-error” of CF7:
safari:
<div class="ajax-error">JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token '<'</div>
firefox :
<div class="ajax-error">JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data</div>
and it is not as I said above caused when the field has text with a space , but when the field has text after a space. The space itself is not the problem.
I googled the “ajax error” and found lots of different causes. Even the plug in author knows about it by a some months old support thread but does not give a solution – not in the thread I found.
It’s a fact though, that in a similar site of mine, which has been a clone of the one with the bug , but where I did not update WP 4.4.8 to 4.7 and CF7 4.5.1 to 4.7 , meaning all other details like plug ins, languages, pages, formes etc. are exactly the same exempt the text content, does not show the bug, nor the “”ajax error”
To make sure I deactivated all plug ins , no better, I deleted CF7 and set it up again , no better ….
I’M using the newest version of all plaguing , newest version of Sparkling theme with a child theme , newest version of WP and CF7
It seems to me it’s about a incompatibility of WP 4.7 and CF7.
Any idea someone?
best regards
Micky
