Randomly the plugin just doesn’t seem to be sending emails anymore and don’t know why. It was working fine but now just get Authentication Failed on the log section

Even went through the wizard again to setup and all green and connected, send a test email – nothing

I’m using Zoho as my email so followed the guide here – https://www.zoho.com/mail/help/zoho-smtp.html

535 Authentication Failed – is the last line in the logs

  • Did you install the better email logger extension?

I did then I removed it but still it’s not working even after removing the “Better Email Logger”

    250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN
    250 SIZE 53477376
    AUTH PLAIN
    334

    535 Authentication Failed

    Don’t know if that helps??

Just put the login details or api key again and save.

Yep I have gone through the Setup wizard for the SMTP plugin again and still have that’s the error I’m getting after removing the Email Logger plugin

Just tried removing the SMTP plugin as well as resetting everything, however still having the same Authentication Failed Not found, check status column for more info.

    Hi @mattthomas-photography,

It sounds silly, but have you double checked the password your trying definitely works? It might be worth testing in a mail client like Thunderbird.

It’s also worth nothing, a lot of providers that have 2FA on accounts will need an “app password” for something like SMTP. I’m not sure specifically about Zoho, but do you have two factor enabled?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

Just logged into my Zoho mail using the email and password I entered within SMTP and no I don’t have 2FA active

    Hi @mattthomas-photography,

Under ‘Show All Settings’, can you locate the ‘Authentication’ dropdown. Please change this from ‘Plain’ to ‘Login’ and let us know if this makes any difference?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

    Hi @mattthomas-photography,

Yes, thank you. Can you try changing the following?

    • Outgoing Mail Server Port to 465
    • Security to SMTPS
    • Authentication leave as Login

Let me know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

    Hey Tim,

So it looks like the link I visited before had the wrong server name as somehow had it for .eu at the end (as you can see from the report above)

Change the above as you mentioned and then the server to smtppro.zoho.com and managed to get a test email through. I’m just going to try and do a test order through my store to see if all the emails populate
