CF7 was sending fine before it was updated. Current version is 5.1.4.

Now, the message ‘There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later’ is displayed in orange box. If you resubmit the form after fail, it works. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with same issue.

No errors are logged. There are no JS errors. Have tried with and without recaptcha. Have had this happen on other sites too?

Have tried adding new forms and still no luck. As mentioned, they worked fine previously.

Any help would be appreciated as we have to roll the plugin back to V5.1 to avoid this error.

I have the same issue. It hapened right after I connected CF7 with Captcha. Now there is no captcha – [recaptcha] removed in all my forms but the integration is still valid and it’s not possible to send anything. When captcha integration is reversed then forms send just fine.

Hello,
I’m glad that I’m not the only one with this issue since V5.1.4 update.
I connected CF7 with recAPTCHA (v3).
Can we roll back to V5.1 please?

Unfortunately it did not solve my issue. I’m using the twenty-twelve theme, and using this theme the error remains. But when I change to twenty-nineteen the issue is solved. How can I continue to use twenty-twelve without this issue?

Finally I managed to solve the issue by installing the reCAPTCHA V2 plugin

@getmilk – CF7 5.1.+ updated to reCAPTCHA v3.

The orange error border indicates reCAPTCHA v3 is not working correctly on your site.

You may see this error if you’ve:
- previously used reCAPTCHA v2 with CF7
- updated to CF7 5.1.1 or newer and
- not changed your previous reCAPTCHA v2 keys to reCAPTCHA v3 keys at Contact > Integration.
