I have reviews from the time I installed the plugin, but no new ones since then. I looked at another support request, and there are no errors in the retrieved data tab, it just says 35 reviews when there should be 43. I have removed the emoticons. I have it set to synchronize hourly since yesterday, retrieve both new and relevant reviews. I’ve checked my Google API key and it’s correct, and it is restricted to the IP given and the Places API. What else could it be?

@socialsparkmedia There is a chance that reviews will fall between the cracks if you retrieve relevant reviews (rather than newest or a combination of these).

If you expect 1 or 2 reviews per week, Daily is usually plenty.

You can always use “Clear Cache” to force a new collection – if this is run with some time between each API request.

I recommend giving the HTML Import a go to see what reviews may have been left out from the Places API – this can be informative as well as practical. This process was originally intended to collect the less-relevant reviews and those left before the installation of the plugin – but nowadays, it’s primarily there to build up the initial archive.

Let me know how this goes and I’ll assist further if needed.

Thanks, the HTML import worked, so it’s displaying the new reviews now. Still weird though because the back-end tab for reviews says “44”, but the front end still says “35” and I have the new ones. For the HTML import I selected “only import original” and “import empty reviews”. I did change the settings to “retrieve new reviews only” and “synchronize daily,” (I only had it hourly for troubleshooting).

    This is the shortcode I’m using: [reviews_rating icon=”false” name=”false” vicinity=”false” date=relative limit=6 view=3 loop=-1 interval=10 excerpt=250]

It seems to be fine though, just wanted to give you that add’l information about my settings in case there was something else I need to change.

    Thanks for your help!

@socialsparkmedia Please ensure you clear you page cache and perhaps, the plugin’s cache – this should ensure the latest overall rating count is accurate.

I did not know there was cache clearing for the plugin – that did it! Thanks so much.
