    Hi all,

I tried to fix this myself and even hired a designer, but after hours of work (and a huge bill ?? ) he could not figure out what is wrong either.

I have two quite big issues with my ‘baby’, https://www.thequeenssword.com.
    1. The template is said to be responsive, but my readers complain that this isn’t the case and Google has ‘told’ me the same. When you see my site in google search results it even says that the theme is not suitable for mobile phones. (It is influencing my ranking negatively too). People have sent me pictures of how it looks on their tablet and indeed it looks weird. Now don’t get me wrong: I love this theme, despite having had issues before, and I definitely want to keep it. But it is important this matter gets fixed.

    2. Since the last update of the theme my admin panel/dashboard is excruciatingly slow. Of course we checked all plugins, but this does not seem to matter. it isn’t the server either, because my other website for my company works normal. When switching to another theme for The Queen’s Sword everything is lightening fast again, so the problem must be in this theme. It can take up to 20 seconds to update a post now, or open a specific part of the site. The fastest parts are still close to 10 seconds, when it should be just ‘one count’. When under a deadline this is hell…actually it is always hell, but you know what I mean. Could you please check this out!

    Thank you so much!
    Kalo

  • Hey there,

    Apologies for the late reply.

    1. The template is completely responsive, actually this issue is caused because your site’s logo is way bigger than it’s supposed to be. That’s why it isn’t responsive. We recommend using a logo of dimensions 138 × 43.

    2. Can you check and report if theme works fine on your other site? Or does it makes your other site slow as well?

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Suyogya,

    1. It is impossible to have a logo that small with the name attached that is also readable. I had several designers look at it. I even had two logo-designers create something (costs money of course) and the first in that size became so small it was unusable. This actual logo (the seal) is barely readable as is, but at least you see the name of the site. I need a true logo to be recognizable. When I first had nothing there or the very small thing, I did a test for user friendliness and all of the users complained there was no visible logo, so no branding, no link to other outlets, thus no idea on what site they were, etc. Logo dimensions of 148×43 are therefore useless. You can only use one small word.

Is there a possibility to have just the seal in those dimensions showing when someone goes online on mobile or pad? That I could put that in the coding? Or perhaps if I make a smaller version of this logo and I give the command to show this when opening in iPad/cellphone? I would not know how to do that, but it might solve the issue. I don’t have the money for designer nr 3…but the ones I asked for advice all say the same: for an actual logo these dimensions are way too small.

    2. The webdesigner I hired, to make the site faster, tested several themes on both urls to see if it was the server. He also shut off each and every one of the plugins…that did not help either. Sure, there are plugins that make something slower (like Wordfence, but too important to shut off) on the outside, but the back end (my dashboard/admin panel) was always quite fast, until the last update. All other themes works fast everywhere, except for the Bookrev :(. And he can’t figure out why (he no longer works for me now. My budget isn’t endless). It took me 40 seconds to log-in this time and 15 seconds to open one of my articles. When I posted last weekend it sometimes took the same amount to update an article after some changes.

I truly hope you’ll find why.

    Hey there,

    1. You can probably achieve this by following this tutorial.

    2. Your site is pretty fast, and loads completely in 2.5 seconds. You can see the same here. So it’s definitely not an issue with our theme or WordPress. It might just be your internet speed. Hope it helps.

    1. Thank you. I will check it and see if it makes any sense to me. It seems to have some coding on differences in screens. Great!

    2. I am not talking about the loading time of the site itself (although 2.5 seconds for the money I invested in making it quicker is quite a disappointment to be honest. No wonder Pagespeed is still in the red for me). If I enter my url there’s nothing wrong.

The problem is with the Dashboard and its options. It *absolutely* can’t be my internet speed because all my internet pages from all other sites load extremely fast. I have 150Mbit. Again: my admin panel is the issue here, so when I am actually working with the site, not what others see. This was never a problem *until the update*. A few weeks ago everything opened within a second. Now it is so excruciatingly slow I want to throw my laptop out of the window. It is hardly workable anymore. This can’t be my internet speed, because A. I haven’t changed packages. B. Then it should always have been a problem and C. In that case it should occur in many more places. But my other site is lightening fast (also WordPress, so there I agree with you), all other sites I use are lightning fast, I can download stuff within seconds. Anyway, it only occurs in my *admin panel for Bookrev*. Which means it must be something with the theme, sorry.

    Hi there,

I am not entirely convinced that this has to do anything with our theme. But as I can see, you’re using W3 Total Cache plugin. Could you possibly try disabling that and see if it makes things any better? Besides that, also try increasing memory allocated to PHP to 1024 by following this guide. If any of these fail to fix the issue for you, I’d recommend you to contact your hosting providers’ support team. Hope it helps.
