“Not required & not configured” redux

    Like wbenterprises the other month, I also have an editor seeing the “Not required & not configured” status on some users on his user list. We’re currently running version 2.2.1 of the plugin on our multisite.

    Users registered in February 2022 who haven’t yet logged in are showing as “Not required and not configured,” though when I switched to one of their user accounts I saw the prompt to start setting up 2FA.

    It really is just an issue with the label, and it will go away eventually, but is there any way to update this within the interface, without editing the data?

    Thank you for your message and for using our plugin.

    Indeed, that is only a label. The user 2FA-status is checked when that user logs in. If the user never logs in, then the status remains the default status.

    Pre-2.2.0 the default status was “Not required & not configured” but then we’ve change it to “User has not logged in yet, status is unknown”.

    If you create a new user now once that 2.2.1 is installed, can you please let us know what is the default status of that user?
