Not redirecting unless there’s an existing source page.

    So, I’ve noticed the Redirection plugin redirects only if there’s an existing URL I would like to redirect (can be draft or set to private), otherwise, I’m getting a 404 error.

    I guess I’m doing something wrong, just can’t figure what.

    And Ideas?

    Can you provide more details? The main idea of the plugin is to redirect things that dont exist.

    I don’t get it. I had this problem on the live site and on the staging site and it lasted for quite some time.

    Now, that I logged in and opened the ticket, after you replied I started working on replicating the issue and making a video.

    At first, it didn’t work, then I started experimenting with draft/private/trash to show you, still nothing, and then it just started working correctly.

    So, now I have nothing to show you.

    I’m suspicious of the general WP install, however, I have no other redirection plugins, or redirections in any other plugin.

    I do have some redirects in htaccess file, but those are not in conflict with URL’s I’ve experimented with.

    My intention is to consolidate all redirection within Redirection, and once everything’s there, I’ll update the ticket on how it went or asked for assistance…

    Probably what you were seeing were cached results, and after a while the cache expired and you saw the updated results.
