Not redirecting back to zendesk unless the user was already logged in

We just noticed that if the user is not already logged in, when they visit a link to a support article (i.e. https://www.keepingcurrentmatters.com/creatingyourprofile/) they get sent to the default wordpress login page instead of our custom login screen. The redirect info is not included in the address bar, and when they login it just goes to the dashboard instead of sending them to the zendesk support article.

We have a multibrand setup, so the script that they’ll hit when they try to use the original zendesk link redirects them here: https://www.mykcm.com/wp-login.php?action=zendesk-remote-login, but like I said the ?action=zendesk-remote-login part gets removed. Any idea what we can do?
