The plugin does not recognize 404 errors. The log file remains empty. Are there any known issues with incompatibility with other plugins?

At the same time, I use John Godley’s Redirection plugin, which very reliably captures every 404 error.

Does it work if you deactivate the “Redirection” plugin for testing purposes? Possibly that plugin doesn’t allow the events to come through to other plugins.

John Godley Redirection plugin works well with All-In-One Security.

All-In-One Security does not work with Peter Raschendorfer’s 404page plugin. With 100,000+ installs this is a very popular plugin and I use it myself on several WordPress installs.

That’s a pity, especially since I already bought the Smart404 extension.

    Hi,

I’ve had a look into this and can’t see any conflicts between the plugins.

The 404 table in AIOS only records events if the feature “Enable 404 IP detection and lockout” is enabled, pressing the “more info” button next to that information explains the feature and how it works.

Do you have that enabled? if not then it’s expected behaviour that nothing is logged in that table.

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley
