I installed and configured Email Subscribers for single optin subscription, and then sent an email to my clients with a link to the subscription page linked below. Although a number of subscriptions are showing up in the plugin Subscribers pane, I have not received a single subscription notification. I have double-checked that I have the correct email address entered in the admin settings and that “Notify Admin when a new subscriber signs up” is set to YES. I have also checked spam filters on my host, but there is no record of notification emails being quarantined. What could the problem be?

There seems to be some issue with the configuration.
May I know if you have configured an SMTP plugin on your website or scheduled a cron job?

Do let me know your views on the same.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t have an SMTP plugin. The only chron job is a weekly backup via BackWPup. Would litespeed servers make a difference? Would be happy to send you a list of plugins I’m using, but would prefer not to post it.

Would really appreciate some assistance with this, as I have my first post scheduled to go out to my list tomorrow.

The notifications for the published post didn’t go out to my subscribers. This is very disappointing. I have been recommending this plugin to my clients due to the ease of setup, but since it won’t send anything, and I don’t seem to be able to get any help, I will have to switch plugins.

    Apologies for the delayed response.
I advise you to kindly configure an SMTP plugin(example:- EASY WP SMTP) first.
After this is done, kindly schedule a cron job as mentioned in this article. A cron is advised to be scheduled to be triggered every hour.
Also confirm your hourly email sending limit and update the same by navigating to Email Subscribers-> Settings-> Cron.

Do let me know if it works for you.

I really didn’t want to add a second plugin to make Email Subscribers work. First of all, I am looking for a simple subscription solution I can share with clients – having to install a second plugin to make the first one work is not simple. In addition, the domain where this plugin is not working is an add-on domain in a hosting account where the plugin is working just fine on a different add-on domain under the same account, so it doesn’t look like host email settings can be the issue.

I have switched themes, turned off all my other plugins, and tried all 4 email types. I checked my host’s hourly email limit. I compared the Email Subscribers settings in the domain that isn’t working with the settings in the domain where it is working, and they are exactly the same. New subscribers (signing up through the widget) show up immediately to the subscriber list, but there is no admin notification of a new signup, whereas, on the other site with the plugin, I receive a notification immediately.

I also tried another newsletter plugin, which worked fine on the site where your plugin isn’t working.

I really want to use your plugin. The design of the emails the other plugin sent out were very unattractive and unprofessional-looking compared to yours. However, nice email design doesn’t do me much good if the plugin isn’t sending any emails. Do you have any more ideas about what the problem could be?

It suddenly started working a few weeks ago with no further action from me. I didn’t install any chron plugins or change any settings.
