• I’m testing out my new store and under “settings/email/new order” have enabled email notification and have made 3 purchases but have not received any of the email notifications. The orders are showing up under orders in the dashboard and I’m receiving my paypal notifications but the ones from woocommerce aren’t coming through.

    I tried a different email address and it worked. The original address was the same as the from (email options) and that didn’t seem to work. I would think that would work though as many times the “from” and “to” on website forms is the same. Any information on this issue? Does the notification recipient email need to be different than “from” email?

    I am also reporting the same inconsistency with different email addresses

    So this issue is not with WooCommerce but with your email provider. Some providers do not like from and to the same domain while using PHP mail(). In those cases, you would need to use a SMTP setup which you can use a plugin for that. Search for SMTP plugin above.

    If the case where the “original address was the same as the from”… and that address happened to be Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail, then you have to use their SMTP servers. If you don’t know, they’re going to toss your email into their blackhole because they expect their own users to authenticate with their SMTP servers.

    I’m just guessing here because you haven’t give specifics as to how your email is configured, but I think that’s a good guess.

    I occasionally am not getting new orders emailed to the order desk. Why would this be? All the emails have the same address.
