Hi. Bit of a newb here so I apologize if this is a stupid question but I can’t seem to find the answer elsewhere.
I’m not receiving notifications when someone fills out the WPForms contact form on my site. When I first set it up I received a couple of notifications when I tested it but nothing since. I receive weekly reports emailed by WPForms telling me the number of people that have filled out the form every week but I don’t know how to access these forms. I don’t receive realtime notification emails and I don’t know where to even find these filled out forms if I were to manually check.
Is anyone able to assist or provide some suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong and how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @xofer,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with email delivery.

To troubleshoot the issue, you can check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.

If your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.

To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure a SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

    I hope this helps ??

    Hi @xofer,

We haven’t heard back from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jade,

Thanks for this. Sorry for the slow reply but it took me a long time to figure the SMTP stuff out.

It now seems to be working okay and I’ve run a couple of tests that worked.

I have one more question though: is there an archive or area that shows all my form entries in one place? I’m just wondering if I’ve missed some form submissions over the last few weeks how I can view them. Or if in the future my email notification stops working again for some reason – how do I manually check for form submissions?

    Thanks, Chris

    Hello @xofer,

WPForms Lite does not have the feature to store entries and they only exist through the email that is sent out when the forms are submitted. Because Lite entries are not stored, we do not have a centralized area where the undelivered emails for those entries can be accessed.

While our Lite plugin isn’t able to collect or store entries in any way beyond sending out the email, some hosting providers do log emails that are sent out from the sites they host. So if you need to try and recover undelivered emails, the best next step in trying to find records of previous entries is to contact your site’s hosting provider to ask if they do this.

    I hope this helps.
