Hi. I ran a test by filling out the form. I have 2 issues that I need help with.

    1) After I click send a copy and submitted the form, I checked my inbox for the email address I clicked “send a copy to”. I received it. However, I did not receive an email in my main inbox that would notify me if someone filled out and submitted the form. Is there supposed to be a feature to notify me? If so, how do I activate it?

    2) I added an extra field in my form for birthday. I have my form set to “Web to Lead”. When I logged into my salesforce account, I saw my Lead there but no column for my extra field for birthday I made. How can I get this to show up?

    Thanks in advance

Just wanted people to know that I think I found the solution to this in case anyone was wondering.

    1) To get notified if someone submitted a form, it’s under the “settings” tab in your salesforce plugin, then scroll down to Email settings. Fill out those fields with your email addresses.

*A little confusing “Email from name:” and “Email from address:” should have a description of what we are supposed to type in the fields. “Email from name:” sounds like we should type in someone’s name such as Jon Doe. It should have a description to what the purpose is and that we should fill in an Email address.

    2) I think to get the extra field to show up in the Lead section in sales force, there is an ID specifically required by salesforce. I haven’t found out what that is yet but that’s the reason it’s not showing up. If anyone knows how to remedy this, please post.

    Thanks

    1) Those fields are optional – if you don’t fill them out WordPress puts something in there for you. But it’s generally [email protected] which can cause deliverability issues.

The emails always get sent. Whether they are received has everything to do with your WP config, your email server config, and spam filter settings. Not generally the plugin.

Email from name: a name like John Doe or your company name. This isn’t clear?

Email from address: the email address re message should appear as “from”…

    2) Read the plugin FAQ. It covers finding the API name Salesforce requires you use in your form.
