• I recently moved a wordpress site from a staging to a live server and noticed that I am no longer receiving any emails via php for anything: comments, new users or form mail (Cforms but I’ve since tried others).

To the user it looks like the mail is being sent, but it isn’t being received. I have tried the smtp approach and this works better (although an SMTP error is being reported by some).

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have a number of other WordPress sites and they can send emails fine. I have tried all manner of email combinations in admin and users but just can’t get anything to go via php.

Is there a trend of this when a site is moved to a new domain?

I’ve spent ages looking into this and would really appreciate some help as I’m completely out of ideas!!!

    Thanks

  • I think the problem is host-related. Find out from the sysadmin if php’s mail() function works.

Thanks for coming back to me. I did think about the host, but as my other sites work fine I think that it is something more particular to this site. (and I have reloaded all the core files in wp-admin and wp-includes).

nathan12343, did you ever find a solution to this?

I am also interested in this… please update

Sorry no joy on solving this. It happens more and more and I can’t see any reason for it. Now the first plugin I load is smtp_mail.

Perhaps WP 3.0 will correct the issue, not tried it yet.
