I am SO frustrated… I’m just trying to change the email address for my account so it uses the email created in Bluehost (matching my URL) and also connects to my Gravatar.

I’ve been trying to do this for over a week now. I change the email address in the dashboard settings. An alert pops up underneath it saying “There is a pending change of the admin email to XXXXXXX” but the email never comes… I’ve cancelled it and re-done it a few times and still nothing. Why is something so basic so difficult…?

Can anyone please help? I can’t even find a way to get support from www.remarpro.com or Bluehost.

I don’t know if it makes any difference, but FYI, the email address I’m trying to change it to is a gmail account which has my url name in it.

There are SMTP Settings for Google Accounts on that plugins settings page, can you find them and enter your data? That way your site would only send properly authenticated emails, eliminating another possible roadblocks. Let me know if you need more help finding the settings.

Jesus Christ. As a non-technical person, that was one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done on a website lol. I have ZERO idea what I just went through, why I had to do it or what the long-term effects will be, but it seems to have worked…

Thank you for your patience and help – I really appreciate it.

(If you can maybe provide a basic bitch explanation of what I just did so I can understand it better that would be awesome!)

You’re very welcome. Pay it forward when you get a chance ??

    Explanation:
You have switched from unauthenticated, script-based email sending to using an actual email account for sending your emails.

Many hosters require this as a security measure, however I find the order we did things in to work best for non-techies as you could tell we went steep up the hill with the technicalities ??
