Hi, I’m using the free Version 6.3.15 of WordFence. I locked myself out of my site and used the unlock feature after getting the “You are temporarily locked out message”. I input the exact email address that is associated with my admin account, but never received an unlock email. I did check spam as well. I was able to get back in using another method, but believe that is a bug.

  • Hi,
Did you check if your site’s domain or IP address has been added to a blacklist or not?

Also, I’m curious to know if you can receive the “test email” sent by Wordfence from (Wordfence > Options => Email Summary) or not?

    Thanks.

I checked and it does not show up on a blacklist, and after I enabled debugging mode, I did get the test email.

I don’t think that having “Enable debugging mode” checked has anything to do with sending emails, this option just enable verbose logging in Wordfence, so more details about what’s going on during scan will be shown in the scan activity log.

I enabled it because it wasn’t there first, and I found these instructions: “The “Send test email” function in the “Email Summary” section is only visible if Wordfence debug mode is enabled. You can “Enable debugging mode” at the bottom of the Diagnostics tab, located on the Tools page on the Wordfence menu.” Regardless, I get the test email.
