• Yes it prevents access to the dashboard, but how is that useful when really if you are going to have any tailored access to the dashboard the desired option is to be able to tailor that access by user.
Nice plugin but could be whole lot more functional.

Revised … It does what it should and does it well.

  • Hi @krammig,

Thank you for the review. I’m sorry the plugin didn’t meet with your expectations. It was built with a very specific use-case in mind: to limit admin access based on user capability. Within that scope, a lot of users seem to be pretty happy with it.

It’s true that I’ve made a conscious decision to focus this plugin solely on the access part of the equation, and less so on per-user controls.

It’s worth mentioning, however, that plugins like Members and others when used in conjunction with Remove Dashboard Access can allow for very fine-tuned control on a user-by-user basis. This plugin supports limiting access based on any core or custom capabilties, so I’d encourage you to look into those secondary solutions if that’s still a problem you’re trying to solve ??

P.S. If there’s anything I can do to improve your rating, short of rewriting this plugin, let me know.

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps in hindsight I might have been a little harsh. You are quite right, it does what you have designed it to do. My observation is that it could indeed be a whole lot more flexible.

Anyway, I have tried to up the rating but cannot seem to do so. I will try and create a new one with a revised rating.

    cheers

Looks like the rating got updated after all, so thanks for that ??

Best of luck solving your problem!
