• Just plain awful. I’m a huge fan of Google and am heavily invested in their world, but this plugin is quite dreadful.

On my staging site, the three menu options would only present blank white screens, nothing would ever load. Even after resetting and going through setup again, it just didn’t work.

Then I tried on production, and only got

“Unable to authenticate Site Kit. Check your client configuration is in the correct JSON format.”

Despite being 100% sure that I authenticated with the right account.

I deactivated the plugin, hit delete, and nothing happened. No matter what I did, the plugin would not remove itself.

In the end I had to SSH in and manually remove the folder.

Thanks but no thanks Google. You clearly have some work to do on this plugin. I’ll update my review should a working version get published.

I decided to give version 1.1.1 a try, one would assume that a new version is what fixes a lot of the problems people are having.

I was wrong. Come on Google, you need to do better than this. There are people making plugins in their home who produce better quality plugins than this.

@itsmescotty Just to let you know we’ve made improvements to the plugin since its early releases, including changes to the verification process.

We’ve also added a feedback option within the plugin. It would be great to hear how you find the latest version of the plugin, and whether you’re able to connect as expected on any of your production sites.
