I ran it for 24 hours open on a MacPro on a site with a dedicated server to compress 9000 images. 3% completed? I received 588 errors, and it only finished 433 of them. I received 500 server errors written to my media library.

I have used EWWW Image optimizer for years. Works well, its fast – but a bit more money. I think I’ll go back to it until they get the bugs worked out of this.

  • I had the same paltry performance results when trying to optimize images with this plugin.

I have 160+ mbs download speeds and 20mb+ upload speeds, so absolutely no reason why it should take this long. Just compressing a single image took minutes.

Totally inexcusable for any modern image compression plugin.
