Not quite responsive

  • Another great plugin. I have only tried Afflux, so comments are restricted to this gallery. A few comments/suggestions:
    1. It requires fixed height. The plugin does not automatically adjust the height. It is not fully responsive. On wide screen, you either get border at sides (if set to fit) or cropped image (if set to fill).
    2. On iPhone, it switches to gallery rather than slideshow. Viewer will have to slide through the images.
    3. It seems to load all images to start the slideshow. Imagine a slideshow of large number of images.
    4. It seems to only upload image at full size. I am not sure if it creates thumbnails. If it always load full size images, it can be slow. Of course, we can always compress before upload. Because of 4 and 3, it can be heavy.
    5. It will be nice to have choice of transitions. At least fade is a common one.
    6. It will be nice to be able to disable the title bar on the gallery when on iPhone.
    7. It will be nice to integrate with WordPress media library. It will be nice to create gallery from WordPress media library, post, etc. Also, since this plugin does not provide thumbnails (e.g. medium size), if we were to use the image from it, we have to work with full size file.

    Hoping to see more development in this plugin.

    1. I’ll add dynamic height relative to images size in future module updates
    2. Slideshow for mobile browsers will be added soon.
    3. On Desktop it loads all thumbnails first, then preloads only one current big image. On Mobile it loads all thumbnails, current big image and next 2 big images. When you swipe one time it preloads one more next image. This is done for traffic economy.
    4. It creates thumbnsails, when gallery opened first time (you’ll see progress bar (only once)). If you upload big image in the plugin it will not downsize it and on site big image will be loaded with original size.
    However, I’ve plan to add downsize option on upload in future.
    5. – 7. This plugin is very young and I’ll add more and more features in it. All I need is a time.

    Cool, thanks for making the plugin

    i am using that plugin with wordpress responsive site but its not loading the gallery can you help ????
