I can see the sample tweets easily, but when I click on “Start Tweet” nothing happens, and the bar at the top says “Tweet Old Post is set to tweet on a 1 hours interval, and the next tweet will take place in: 0 days, 00 hours, 00 min and 00 sec” but nothing happens. Also, it is not limiting categories, which I can tell by looking at the sample tweet.

    Twitter is @VoiceofE

  • Hold fire, I just got one tweet to work!

Lets see if it carries on working automatically ??

    Hi ,

@eurofestival we are using twitter v1.1 api, there is probably other plugin out there that overwrite this, so please find it and remove ??

@thelaw84 Awesome! How did you solved it ?

Latest problem: I’ve had three tweets sent out since this started working again. All of the tweets have come from categories I set up to exclude from TOP. In other words, it seems like your setting, “Exclude specific tweets” is doing the exact opposite of what it used to do.

I am having the same problems as have already been described. I have the message:

Tweet Old Post is set to tweet on a 1 hours interval, and the next tweet will take place in: Your tweet was just sent to twitter server. Refresh the page to see when the next one will be posted.

    But nothing is Tweeted.

I tested the inverse exclusion theory by selecting all categories, saved and hit start tweet but nothing happened.

Zumatra – try using WP Shot url. When I used Bit.Ly I had same issue

I just tried all URL shortening options including having it disabled and none worked – nothing happened.

Incidentally, shouldn’t this thread be unmarked as [resolved]? The OP has not posted that it is resolved and plenty of people still have the problem.

Hi I am having the same problem. Tried all the suggestions but nothing has worked. This is my favourite plugin by far, I hope this gets resolved!

I’m afraid that I have reverted to v 4.0.10 because there were too many issues with the recent updates – not least that it didn’t do the posting thang!

But another issue which caused me concern was that I had to make every author on my site and admin in order that they could dismiss the alert messages that TOP was creating.

That hashtag problems (such as inline hashtags not being included and there being no hashtags at all, in some cases) of the earlier version were not addressed in the later updates but at least the old version Tweeted which accounted for almost half of my traffic.

In the long term, I think I am going to have to look for another way of working and I apologise to the developer that I don’t have the patience to keep on hoping for the plugin to work as claimed.

Hi Zumatra how did you revert back to the old version? Does it work?

Appreciate that “exclude post” was added back. But just like the rest, TOP is still not working on my end.

I upgraded to the latest version, deleted the app on Twitter, removed my account on TOP and then added it back. I hit stop and then start tweet. The first status bar is showing the timer, and the second status bar showing the advise that tweet will be sent out after 14 seconds. No tweets were sent out, even after the timer reached 0.

Everything seems to be working fine now. Once in a while I’ll get a status message that talks about a duplicate post but I think that’s a Twitter message, not a TOP message.

@digitalwin do you get any error message ?

    @globalhelpswap

I deleted the existing version, downloaded it from here and installed it from plugins page by selecting Add New/Upload

Some settings needed re-insering so I had a window of the existing settings open so that I could copy them easily.

@codeinwp I did not get an error message

I followed the advice and tweets are sent, but there is still an issue: Not all tweets sent have links. That is a problem!
Tweets without links will not bring readers into the site and it will only confuse followers
