• It is not possible to add Live API keys to this plugin manually. You are forced to use the Plugin developer’s Stripe connect to be able to use the plugin.

Not optimal if you are setting a woocommerce site up for a client, where you cannot log in to their stripe account.

Contacted support, they claimed this was a limitation imposed by Strip, which obviously is not true. Implementing the API manually is ofc. possible and allowed by Stripe.

One thing is the limitation of the plugin, which is what it is, but the dishonest response from support triggered this review.

It’s very clear you don’t know what you’re talking about. As a partner of Stripe, the contract my company has in place with Stripe requires that the Connect process be used for live mode.

One thing is the limitation of the plugin, which is what it is, but the dishonest response from support triggered this review.

My response was in no way dishonest, you just don’t have all the facts. There are legally binding contracts in place which dictate how the plugin Connect process must be handled. Stripe determined that manual entry of the API keys for live mode would not be allowed for this solution.

Why would you leave a 1 star review over something you don’t even have any insight or understanding of? I provide an awesome and free plugin which saves people like you tons of time. But rather than asking for clarification or more info you write a rude and ill-informed review.

Well, your reaction to the review speaks loud and clear to my point.

” Stripe requires that the account holder connect the plugin. In live mode, the API keys cannot be manually added. ”

There is no such requirement from Stripe, as the account holders can add team members and give them developer privileges, giving access to the API.

This is clearly not a STRIPE limitation.

If you have decided to connect in a certain way using your “partner account”, I fully understand and respect that.

If there is a need for clarification, then the issue is with your response and not my lack of understanding!

Don’t assume nor write to people as if you consider them to be fools, whether it is in a mail or response to a bad review. How you react to a review says much more about you than the review itself.. just some friendly advice…

Well, your reaction to the review speaks loud and clear to my point.

The point you tried to make wasn’t even accurate.

There is no such requirement from Stripe, as the account holders can add team members and give them developer privileges, giving access to the API.

Stripe’s API does not allow developers to use the connect process on behalf of the merchant. This is absolutely a requirement from Stripe that they have enforced in my solution. I don’t know why you insist on speaking about something you have no clue about. You don’t work for my company nor have you ever seen my contracts with Stripe so it’s bewildering why you are speaking as if you’re an authority on the matter.

This is clearly not a STRIPE limitation.

As I have said previously, this is a limitation that Stripe has placed on my plugin. I never said this was a Stripe limitation.

If you have decided to connect in a certain way using your “partne account”, I fully understand and respect that.

If you understood and respected that then you wouldn’t have left a one star review. Or you would have asked for further clarification if you didn’t understand my response. I explained to you why the plugin is the way it is. I also explained that Stripe requires my plugin to use the Connect process for live mode.

Don’t assume nor write to people as if you consider them to be fooled, whether it is in a mail or response to a bad review.

I don’t know what that even means. I am going to respond to a bad review which is based on a lack of understanding regarding my plugin and my relationship with Stripe.

How you react to a review says much more about you than the review itself

I’m pretty sure writing a review based on a position of ignorance says something about you as the reviewer. It’s my right to set the record straight and ensure that others that see this review are aware that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’ll quote your email once more.

” Stripe requires that the account holder connect the plugin. In live mode, the API keys cannot be manually added. ”

I’ll leave you with friendly advice, Work on your soft skills.

I wish you well and good luck

Here is the full email which you conveniently didn’t include.

    Hi satraptech,

Stripe requires that the account holder connect the plugin. In live mode the API keys cannot be manually added.

That has been enforced by Stripe.

    Kind Regards,

Notice the last part where I state that has been enforced by Stripe. Nowhere in my response did I state that was a Stripe limitation.
