• The plugin didn’t work with Oxygen Builder and was overloading my server. The real serious problem emerged when I wanted to delete the plugin and restore the original woocommerce email templates. It wasn’t possible, so I had to restore my latest backup to get the website running again.

  • Hi,
I’m sorry you had a bad experience with our plugin. Please in the future reach out to our support, we would be more than happy to help you. Especially because it seems there was some confusion about how it works and what it does.

If you remove our plugin then you would be back to using woocommerce default templates. Our plugin doesn’t save anything in your server setup. The files are contained in the plugin and removing it means there is no way it can effect your site. Perhaps you copied files into a child theme?

    All the best,

    Hej Ben,

no confusion here on your plugin and what it does. I was testing it out for some of my clients with smaller webshops.

Your plugin injected some of the information I added in the plugin. It was still visible in the woocommerce template after deleting your plugin. And the original woocommerce template footer was gone.

    Hi,

Thanks for responding. Hopefully, I can clarify how our plugin works since I see there is some confusion.

Our plugin exposes settings from WooCommerce core, and some new custom settings for design in our email design interface, the email customizer.

When you make changes to the design or load a predesign through the email customizer, you are effectively making changes in your woocommerce email settings. For example, WooCommerce has some settings for design:
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8u7Nrvj

(Key one to note is that there is footer text setting which will come up later regarding your footer being gone.)

And some settings specific to email templates, like subject and heading.
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/qGuxZbwD

If you change those settings in the email customizer, you are also changing those settings in woocommerce because they are the same setting and not different from one another.

If you remove our plugin, your settings inside woocommerce email settings are not removed because it’s assumed that when you changed those either in woocommerce settings page or in the email customizer, you did intend to change those settings. The settings always lived in woocommerce and not our plugin, we simply allow you an opportunity to edit them easier.

That is why I tried to make it clear that we don’t leave files on your site when you delete our plugin and that we don’t leave settings. The setting that are there were always available from your woocommerce email settings. If you, for example, removed the footer text in your woocommerce settings, then there wouldn’t be anything to show in the footer of your emails. This does not mean our plugin is doing something on your site after being removed, it simply means that you choose to remove the footer text in your core woocommerce settings. I suggest you remove the footer text on your site, then you can see how that effects your emails and that doesn’t have anything to do with using or not using our plugin.

By the way, if you want to reset all of your email settings both for woocommerce and the extra ones we provide to help design your emails, you can use the reset option in our email customizer.

I kindly ask that you consider asking for support if you need help. We are always happy to help and explain.

    All the best,

    Ben
