Hello, I have found that I am unable to save an image via the frontend in Buddyboss. Only a grey frame appears. I can save it to the library though.

The problem persists if I disable all plugins except Buddyboss and SSL.
Respectively, only the images in the events (The events calendar plugin) are displayed. Logically, all images stopped to be displayed because they were probably saved on your sever after disabling all plugins except Buddyboss.

    Optimole debuger reports the following:

? The images from: sofiasocial.life are not optimized by Optimole. If you would like to do so, you can follow this.
? The images from: s.w.org are not optimized by Optimole. If you would like to do so, you can follow this: Why Optimole does not optimize all the images from my site?.

Maybe its something else. I just recovered from backup after to much database cleanig. Site health has this:

The REST API encountered an error Performance

The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API request failed due to an error.
Error: [] cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

Your site could not complete a loopback request Performance

Loopback requests are used to run scheduled events, and are also used by the built-in editors for themes and plugins to verify code stability.

The loopback request to your site failed, this means features relying on them are not currently working as expected.
Error encountered: (0) cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

    Thank you for your reply.

    Hi @realityman,

Thank you for reporting the issue and for using Optimole.

We haven’t faced such an issue before, I also don’t see any reference to Optimole in the error provided as it shows REST API connectivity issues.

Are you able to upload images if you disable Optimole?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
according to my server provider there is some worldwide problem with the ssl certificate and it’s causing all these problems, so unless you really think it might have something to do with your plugin it’s probably best to wait until it’s resolved on the server side.

But I did have one question regarding billing please. If I’m not mistaken, if someone comes to my website and sees an image, it gets loaded on your cloud. There it then spends 30 days after which it resets.
If during that 30 days anyone else sees that image does that count still as 1 visit? is that correct?

A small note to conclude. Your plugin correctly caught that I have now installed W3 total cache and also displayed a warning:

It seems your are using W3 Total Cache.
If you are using the css or javascript minify/combine option from W3 Total Cache -> Perfomance -> Minify page.
Add this line: https://mlrbnowgwz7e.i.optimole.com/* to Include external files/libraries and check Use regular expressions for file matching checkbox.

If I want to use this plugin together with APC Memcache and Varnish (my site is very dynamic) is there anything else special to look out for?
For example. Besides the warning, I should definitely disable lazy loading in W3TC and leave it enabled only in your plugin.

    Hi @realityman,

Yes, it might be related to the issue mentioned as we’re not aware of any issues related to Optimole and other clients can connect API keys just fine.

In Optimole we count visits not the number of images server and if there are 2 different users visiting your website and loading the same image this will be counted as 2 visits.

You can read more about it here – https://docs.optimole.com/article/1134-how-optimole-counts-the-number-of-visito

There shouldn’t be issues with other caching plugins used as long as you don’t duplicate functionalities so as you mentioned if you’re using Optimole’s lazy-loading do not use lazy-loading in other plugins as that could cause issues.

    Hi Vytis,

I have migrated to a new server that uses MariaDB and I have acquired a new SSl certificate. Lets encrypt switched to the new certificate and that was causing problems.

Thank you for the other replies. This plugin looks great, it is transparent and fully functional 100%.

However, the main problem remained. There is some conflict between the BuddyBoss platform plugin and Optimole.

    Testing:
    BuddyBoss theme
    BuddyBoss platform
Really Simple SSL and Really Simple SSL pro

Result, can’t save image to buddyboss activity feed. After saving, only a grey square appears. All other plugins are disabled. I also tried the variant with SSL disabled, only http.

WP library works normally. Can upload an image to the library. Also embedding images in the blog works normally.

    Thanks for help.

    Hi @realityman,

Could you provide more details about that Buddyboss activity feed? Does it have a URL to check?
Can you check what are the URLs of the images there that are rendered as grey squares?

    Thanks!

    Hello Vytis,

    Yes, of course, thank you.

If I turn off optimol and save the image to the feed
the url has a normal name
https:// website name / name of the picture

If I turn on Optimole (saving to the cloud turned on) this is what happens:

This is the url of the grey frame:

    https://sofiasocial.life/#

If I click on the grey square and open it full screen, this url is displayed:

    https://mlrbnowgwz7e.i.optimole.com/GG-jp-k.a5kU~3b2ea/w:auto/h:auto/q:90/https://sofiasocial.life/wp-content/themes/buddyboss-theme/assets/images/adminbar-background.png`

    Hi Roman,

Thank you, unfortunately, it’s still not clear to me what could be the problem.

Maybe you can contact us directly here – https://optimole.com/#contact and share exact details to replicate the issue + we can send our support plugin to investigate the issue with your dashboard.

    Thanks!
