I installed and activated the Webyx Free version.
I build some pages with it. I saw it’s potential.
    I purchased a Pro license.
I found out the hard way, everything done in the Free version had to be migrated over to the Pro container (copy/paste).
I spent the time doing that work. While this migration work was happening, I had both the Free and Pro versions of Webyx plugins installed and activated.
Once the migration completed, I deactivated the Free version.
Now all of my work I did to migrate to Pro… is broken.
I’m not happy and if there isn’t a quick fix to this issue, I’m going to ask for a refund. I’m not focused on the work I need to accomplish and instead messing around with this d@mn plugin.

    PLEASE NOTE:
I have reinstalled the Free version in order to keep working and moving forward instead of going backwards trying to investigate these issues. I will post a video of the issues for your review and provide that link here…

    Hi @digital-ninja,

thanks for sharing with us your situation.

We watched your video and saw what you described above, but unfortunately we couldn’t see one fundamental thing, so we ask it here: did you select the “webyx pro” option on the Template select in the Page tab in the right side of the Gutenberg editor? Probably you left the “webyx” (free) template while you were at the end using the Pro one.

In any case, since what you are reporting is a situation concerning the Pro version of Webyx, please contact us at the support dedicated to the Pro version, where we will be able to verify your specific situation together and find a solution.

To clarify to everyone else who may read this topic and @digital-ninja ‘s specific situation:

The Free and the Pro versions of Webyx are two different and separate products: they are not one the extension of the other. At this date (the 15th of July 2023) there is no automatic migration from the Free version to the Pro version but, given time, we will think of a way to produce something that will make this possible.

At the moment we, as the plugin developers, recommend to everyone who might want to become a Pro user to start from scratch: don’t do copy/paste of Sections/Slides but start anew building the structure and using the Pro version only.

You do not need to have both the Free and the Pro version installed simultaneously to make Webyx work: this is false because as already said they are two distinct products.

The Free version is there for everyone to play around, become familiar with the Webyx awesomness and decide if it is the right product for them: from there users can decide to settle for what is offered by the Free version, or want to buy the Pro version and start a new project getting their hands on a powerful and ever-evolving product, or uninstalling it if it’s not for them… after all, no one can be everyone else’s cup of tea, right ?? ?

To everyone else who may read this topic:

We take this opportunity to remind you that this report relates to the Pro version of Webyx for Gutenberg and for this version please do not use this forum but the appropriate channels relating to the Pro version.

Thanks again for your time and patience!

    Our best regards,

    The Webineer Team

The issue is not yet resolved. The issue I reported does indeed involve the Free version. The Pro doesn’t work when the Free is deactivated.

    Good morning and happy Sunday!

We want to prove to you and to everyone else that the Free and the Pro version of the plugin work independently and that you are probably using the webyx free template while you are using the Pro version (as suggested in our previous replay above)… so, it is breakfast and coding morning for us today ?? ( Cappuccino and crossaint really help support and development skills ?? ! )

Follow us below in analyzing your situation and why we believe you are using the wrong template, given that the videos you have linked are unfortunately partial and do not show the interesting part, but only the final result.

Look at this first image here (webyx-free-template-assets.png):

    https://app.screencast.com/LN79Sd37DzhZK

In this image that refers to the page you produced on your website, the code that is highlighted shows that the page template that @digital-ninja is using is the Free type and that and the Assets loaded are those of the Free version (see underlining and name of the plugin folder in the WEBYX case, blank lines are for privacy reasons)

Look at this second image here (webyx-pro-template-assets.png):

    https://app.screencast.com/1vbIkwJL5ePmT

In this second image you can see a page where it is shown what should appear as a page template if the Pro version is used correctly and its Assets will be correct (see WEBYX-PRO plugin folder)

Now, look at this video here (webyx-pro-support-template.mp4):

    https://app.screencast.com/sUPfkxpx4OdkT

In the first part it is shown that using both versions at the same time and correctly selecting the WEBYX PRO page template even disabling the FREE will work correctly in any case.
In the second part it is shown that if you use the WEBYX FREE page template or any other with the Pro version Block, you will have problems because the correct WEBYX template will not be loaded.

So, as we previously pointed out, your situation arose from the initial assumption that the Pro version was an upgrade of the Free, which as of today (July 16, 2023) is not, but as we have said before we will try to work in order to create something capable of making an automated migration.

We want to say that as the only developers of the Webyx project, we built Webyx completely from scratch and know every single line of code of the dozens and dozens of thousands that make up this project, and its behavior. Trust us if we say that you?do not need?to have both the Free and the Pro version installed simultaneously to make Webyx work: this is?false?because as already said they are two distinct products, and as proven above in pictures and in the video.

@digital-ninja please try what we asked before about the page template and see if it is your case: if you have other issues or you are not happy with our project, please contact us directly via the Pro support.

A recommendation to everyone else who may read this topic:

At the moment we, as the plugin developers,?recommend?to everyone who might want to become a Pro user?to start from scratch: don’t do copy/paste of Sections/Slides but start anew building the structure and using the Pro version only.

We hope we have been even clearer with this answer.

I’ll bet it is a coding day.

I brought up the migration concerns on June 28, 2023. Read the post here. The instructions I was given regarding migration and activation of Pro license were:
“In Gutenberg it is possible to copy-paste the Sections you have already created, in the new Pro block.”

Now, you are telling us, not to copy and paste content from Free to Pro because of Webyx template call (located in the page’s body element) does not get updated while performing a copy/paste effort… this now explains the dependency between Free and Pro versions.
Evidently, they are not “separate” products!

@digital-ninja Normally I would not close this but this is a pro discussion and the developer can get into real trouble here for that.

For pro or commercial product support please contact the developer directly on their site. This includes any pre-sales topics as well.

As the developer is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.
