I’m using the “New User Registration – For User” notifications to automatically send out to new users. This has been working fine up until Thursday. But new users from Saturday and later have not gotten this notification. I can see from the Postmark log that the emails have not been sent out. What can be the problem?

Edit: It looks like I may have disabled the Classic Editor plugin on Thursday, could that be why? And is there no way to use this plugin if I want to use the new Gutenberg editor?

    Hi @oyvdahl,
    Thanks for your message.

This plugin is compatible with Gutenberg so it shouldn’t be the issue. Additionally, as Gutenberg doesn’t do anything with users (only posts/page/custom post types) then it really shouldn’t be the cause of anything.

How are users being created? Is it possible an update to another plugin has caused a conflict?

Okay, the reason I mentioned that is that it says you need the Classic Editor in this post: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/how-can-i-receive-the-best-support/

But good to know that’s not necessary. Users are created from a plugin called WPFusion. I see that in their setting there is a checkbox for “Send a welcome email to new users containing their username and a password reset link.” This is unchecked and has always been unchecked.

I recently updated WPFusion, and I can see in their changelog that they’ve “Fixed unwanted welcome emails with users imported via ConvertKit webhooks”, so that might have caused the issue. I will contact them and ask about this.

    Hi @oyvdahl,
Thanks for clarifying – I’ll revise that document to help with troubleshooting.

The WPFusion plugin certainly sounds like the culprit here – I imagine if users were seeing large amount of email going out when users were imported in bulk then that might be why they changed this behaviour.

WPFusion was the culprit. Turns out they just added the checkbox for “Send a welcome email to new users containing their username and a password reset link.” in the last update. And it was unchecked by default.

I checked it and now the notifications are sent out again.

    Thanks for your help!
