Not getting notified when new bbpress topic or reply added

    I’ve set up Better Notifications for new topics and new replies but am not receiving any. We are using the most current version of bbpress. Better Notifications works fine for other things like our wiki.

    I am getting emails from bbpress as long as I’m subscribed but none from Better Notifications. I installed the email log plug-in and see the bbpress emails but no others. I want admin notifications from Better Notifications whether or not I’m not subscribed to topics or replies.

    Thanks for your message.

    Are you using the bbPress cusomt post types in the Notifications select box?
    Do you know how bbPress adds posts to the WordPress admin via it’s front-end form?

    I’m using Custom Post Types ‘new topic’ and ‘new reply’ in the Notifications select box.

    Sorry but I don’t understand your second question. I go to ‘Forums’ on the Dashboard.

    Hi kbaldac,
    Just done some testing and I do get notifications for new ‘Topics’ but not new ‘Replies’. I think it’s because it doesn’t follow WordPress’s standard post status transition methodology for creating new posts (Replies).

    I’m going to investigate this further but not sure how much more I can at the mo as I have full bbPress support planned as an add-on in the future.

    I recommend re-testing and following this document to see if you can get notifications of new Topics working.

    Thanks Jack. As best I understand, bbpress now groups notifications and sends them together from/to a no reply address with bcc to all the subscribers. It’s done this way for topics and replies. So I guess that wouldn’t be standard WordPress! Let me know your outlook for full bbpress support as I’ve found your plug-in quite helpful to date.

    Ah, sounds like it then.
    I will do – it’s also worth signing up to the mailing list if you’re interested when new add-ons are released.
