When I set up Site Kit it says

    Universal Analytics Code Snippet
The code is controlled by the Tag Manager module.

I think I connected this site with Tag Manager back in October and since then we have tracked little to no traffic in our analytics account. I am not seeing any realtime data when viewing the site (I am not logged in).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @pattyok,

Thanks for reaching out and opening a support topic. Hopefully we help out with your Google Analytics query. While we’re limited to Site Kit plugin support here in the plugins WordPress forums there are a few things we can go though.

First of all when you mention you have little or no traffic Site Kit pulls the information from a users Google Analytics account. For that reason the figures within Site Kit should match what you see over on analytics.google.com, for the Site Kit connected property.

As I don’t see a Google Analytics tag evident from within your site at present, lets use a Site Kit placed Analytics snippet, as opposed to your Google Tag manager inserted Analytics tag. In order to do so can you temporary disconnect the Google Tag Manager module within Site Kit (Site Kit > Settings > Tag Manager > Edit > Disconnect Tag Manager from Site Kit)?

After doing so please revisit the Analytics settings within Site Kit. Go through the setup flow to allow Site Kit to insert your Google Analytics snippet. Please use the same Google Analytics snippet you had connected property, so there is existing data to display.

Once you’ve done so let me know and I’ll check your site once more.

I disconnected tag manager and reconnected the Google Analytics and now the UA tag is showing up in tag assistant and it seems to be tracking…

Excellent, nice work! You may wish to keep your current configurations if you wish. Alternatively if you prefer to revert back to a Tag Manager inserted Google Analytics snippet you can do so. If doing so you can ensure there is a valid Google Analytics tag on your site. The product experts at the Tag Manager Help Center should be able to assist further with this.

Let me know if you have any further questions on the above. If not I’ll close this support topic.
