Not fully working when using steam only

  • Bugreport:

    If your logged in with steam (No WP registration done before) and then you go to settings (Userprofile):

    Bug: You can’t change your Email-Address!

    Reason for this bug: The settings page requests your actual password to be able to change the email address.
    But a user which is logged in with steam, doesn’t have or at least doesn’t know the password which was generated by WordPress while logged in through steam.

    Possible fix: Detect if a user was automatically created through steam login. If yes, deactivate and remove password change fields.

    Possible fix2: Give us an option in your plugin to deactivate the password functions completely.

    In the actual state, i’m not able to use your plugin. All my users are logging in directly through steam (WP register/login deactivated completely) and have email addresses [email protected].
    No of my users is able to change their email in the profile because of the above bug.

    I’ve analyzed the code. Seems like this must be changed in the BuddyPress Plugin ??

    Hello toooni,

    Thanks for the bug report. I didn’t understand the second answer tho. Do you mean you can disable the password check via buddypress?

    I’ll see what I can do for WordPress Installations only, in fact, that’s something I didn’t think about.

    I’ll let you know when I’ll patch it.
