Hello all!

We are experiencing a problem since the beginning of the week : while sharing a post on Facebook, the featured picture is not associated to the post and a “page not found” text appears.

This is really strange, because old posts don’t face the same problem. Only newer ones.

I’ve checked all documentations / discussions on forums about this issue, and I don’t find a solution to this problem.

Do you face the same issue? Do anyone have an idea on how to correct it?

I ran into this problem today with a WordPress 3.8.1 install. Upon further examination, it was the new post that was just added – it was the only one doing this.

So I copied and pasted the contents of the post to a new post, problem solved.

*Interesting note: I then used the SAME permalink name on the new post that was working (after deleting the other) and it quit working again for Facebook shares…gave the same page not found in replace of the title.

So I just used a new permalink and problem solved. Here’s the post:

I found that pasting the URL into the Facebook debugger cleared out Facebook’s stale info that was causing the 404…after doing this, the 404 issue on sharing went away.

Thanks mattstratton. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. It found an error with my URL, but afterwards the error is still there.

Did you do something special after having used Facebook debug tool ?

Thanks mattstratton it works for me fine now. But I got the following problem that if somebody is sharing my content not always the right thumbnails is posting for that content.
Is there an issue to solve that problem?
