    Hello,

is there any error recorded in the nginx error log file? The error log should be under the /var/log/nginx/error.log or /var/log/nginx/your-website.com_error_log

If you open the “WP Admin -> Custom CSS & JS” page and try to deactivate each of the custom codes one by one, can you identify which of the custom code causes the 500 error?

    Hello Support,

I deactivated all the custom css code and add html code(No Error) instead for work perfectly only error coming on logged wordpress. normal wordpress visitors user see no error page on homepage. I have built many website use your plugins same error throw in only homepage. So I considered to Add HTML Code instead custom css code. Other pages after logging work perfectly. Sometime also throwing same error with less custom css code. I checked code on w3c validator for error that show no error css level 3. I tried deactivated all plugins to check. Is due to modsecurity ? May be error cause due to multiple custom css.

Yes, your hosting has set up a modsecurity option, which will throw the 500 error for HTML body larger than 0.5M.

Probably the homepage’s HTML is slightly smaller than 0.5M, but, when you’re logged in, the WP Admin bar will add to the HTML size and cross the 0.5M limit.

The issue has nothing to do with the Simple Custom CSS & JS plugin per se. When you deactivate the plugin, the HTML’s size will shrink simply because of the missing CSS output in the page’s HTML.

You can choose to load some of the CSS as an external file. Go to “WP Admin -> Custom CSS & JS” page, open some of the CSS custom codes and change the “Linking type” option from “Internal” to “External File”.

Alternatively, you can reach out to your hosting and ask them to increase SecResponseBodyLimit option from modsecurity to at least 1M.
