not force download of pdf files

I currently use the shortcode to display xx amount of files (current month), but the button force downloads the pdf files. I would rather redirect to the file so that it opens and then you can save the file.

Can this be done? I see a thread with the opposite of what I want, they open and want the forced downloads.
