• Hi,
Great plugin. Just one problem: it misses obvious matches to search terms. For instance, on one page I have a listing for a “packing list” for our campers. Searching for “Packing list” will bring up a page with a PDF of the Parent Manual that includes the packing list, but it won’t bring up the page that has the phrase “if you’re looking for a packing list, click here…” which is a better match for folks looking just for the list.

It also wont’ find the most relevant match first. It’ll find the word “specialist” before it finds “packing list”. Is there someway to tag content to make it more relevant to a search term? Any help appreciated.

Here’s a link It shows that the search term show up in several places, but the most relevant place is in the Camp – FAQ, but the search term isn’t highlighted there since the snippet doesn’t include the term. So to an end user, they’d never find exactly what they’re looking for.

    Thanks so much!
    Dave

  • Hey Dave,

thanks for reaching out and sorry for this unintentional silent treatment!
Unfortunately our plugin only improves the default WP search, so there are still a lot of limitations and issues. We are constantly trying to improve it and we know we are still far from making it somewhat perfect.

Hopefully some of it will be resolved in the next release, so for the moment all I can say is – sorry for the inconvenience.

Take care and have a lovely day,
    Petra
