Not feedburner.com compatible anymore
-
Hello feedzy team,
it seems your plugin is not compatible to feedburner anymore. Many web pages use feedburner to collect their posts to provide a feed.
Perhaps your plugin is correct, and feedburner has changed to a non-100%-rss-feed-format now, even then it would be great you make your plugin feedburner compatible again. As I said, many web pages use feedburner. In my case, it’s around 30% of used feeds. So, it’s important for a loot feeds which could be used with feedzy.
Here is just one example of many:
https://feeds.feedburner.com/saucelabs/DzbWWould be great to see feedzy compatible to feedburner again soon.
Thanks a lot

Hello @manni79 ,
Thank you for using Feedzy and for reaching out!
I have tested the feed you have provided and I could import posts from it just fine.(screenshot).
If you are experiencing an issue with the feed above, can you please share a screenshot of the error you’re getting or explain what seems to not function correctly anymore?
Thank you and we’ll await your answer!
I seem to have some feedburner compatibility issues as well. I use Feedzy for my blogroll in the sidebar at https://www.geldnerd.nl. Two blogs in my blogroll use feedburner. They give me the following errors:
https://earlyretirementextreme.com/feed/ : https://feeds.feedburner.com/EarlyRetirementExtreme is invalid XML, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: Mismatched tag at line 10, column 12
https://luxeofzuinig.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default : https://feeds.feedburner.com/LuxeOfZuinig is invalid XML, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: Mismatched tag at line 10, column 12
Hello Geldnerd and Mat,
@mateithemeisle: I am suprised you do not get the error, because I still get it, even with updated plugin. And it seems also other poeple like Geldnerd get it. Any idea why?
Here is a screenshot of current state and current error messages feedzy produce on my page with feedburner:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/78nq3t3dqywgo4w/Feedzy_Feedbruner_error.png?dl=0
“https://feeds.feedburner.com/saucelabs/DzbW is invalid XML, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: Mismatched tag at line 10, column 12”My interface shows feedzy Version 3.8.2, which should be latest.
I see of speak of “import posts”. I do not speak of “import posts”, I mean use the feedzy to post an overview of feeds.
Here just an example with one feed, of course I use a lot of feeds. You find more feeds making errors in the screenshot above.
[feedzy-rss feeds="https://feeds.feedburner.com/saucelabs/DzbW" max="9" summarylength="200" feed_title="no" target="_blank" title="65" size="100" thumb="yes" default="/abc/abc.jpg" refresh="12_hours"]
Any idea or any information I can provide you to fix this?
Thanks and best regards

Hello @manni79 and @geldnerd ,
Thank you for your replies and apologies for the delayed replies!
I have tested the feeds again using the shortcode method and still couldn’t reproduce the errors on my testing environment, thus I’m thinking there must be something related to your environment.
We are dealing either with a plugin conflict, or maybe a WP/PHP version incompatibility.
Can you please disable all your plugins, except Feedzy, and see if the issue reproduces? If not, then you can start activating the plugins one by one until you manage to find the one causing the issue.
If that didn’t fix it, please let us know what version of WP and PHP you are using so we can try and replicate them to see if maybe that is the issue.
Thank you and we’ll await your response!
Hi Mat,
Thank you for your reply.
After disabling all my plugins except Feedzy the issue reproduces on my side. So we can safely say that for me it is not a conflict with another plugin.
My current WP-version is 5.9, the latest. I am also on Feedzy 3.8.2, the latest. PHP-version is 8.0.15 according to my Site Health. Hope this helps!
Hello @geldnerd ,
Thank you for the additional information and sorry for the delayed reply!
Hmm… that is indeed very strange. I have created a test environment with the settings mentioned by you and still couldn’t reproduce it. I took another look at your dropbox screenshot and it seems like the error refers to the feed not being available thus I’m thinking that maybe the host is interrupting the feed when updating it and that error only appears on such occasions?
That is the only explanation I can possibly think of at the moment since if it was a constant issue, It should reproduce in all environments. I also haven’t seen any other cases other than the 2 mentioned here…
Does this error appear all the time on your end? Or just from time to time?
Can you please try to clear all your cache (server, browser, plugins) and try displaying the feed again?
Thank you and I’ll await your answer!
Hi Mat. Very strange indeed. The error does appear all the time. I have cleared the cache, disabled Feedzy, restarted my website, enabled Feedzy again, all to no avail.
Furthermore, my hosting provider notified me about explosive growth of my database. When checking, we found that the wp_options table had literally tens of thousands of %transient_feed% entries.
For now I have disbled Feedzy and installed a competitive RSS plugin. I must say that the speed increase is striking. Too bad, because I like the Feedzy plugin.
Hello @geldnerd ,
Thank you for your reply!
I’m sorry to hear that you moved to another plugin, however, we would like to investigate this issue even more.
Could you please submit this form? https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qQAPC4YflcwOMpqoN-ENbgfNj2qKIKmDvz22WaE8gOk/
Then, we’ll be able to get more information about your WordPress instance and server limitations to understand the root cause for this issue better.
Thank you and we’ll await your answer!
Hi Mat, I submitted the form. Hope that it helps to find the root cause of this issue.
Hi @geldnerd,
Thank you, we have received the filled form. I was still not able to replicate the same issue described with the shortcode provided above, the same theme and same settings didn’t allow me to see the error.
May you also hit us an email directly via this contact form – https://themeisle.com/contact/ (it’s for pre-sales questions only but we will use it for this exceptional case).
Maybe we can check it with your dashboard/staging website to find even more details. Thanks!
@bvytis and @mateithemeisle:
I have a rented web server (same as most people I think) and no access to unix console, so I can not “ping” or make any technical check, if feedburner perhaps block our web server.
Can you please have a check, which error message appears in feedzy if the target feed-server blocks web requests? Because you can not reproduce the problem (but geldnerd and I get them all the time), I got the idea that feedbruner perhaps blocks IPs/Server which make frequent calls.
This is just an idea, I have no evidence for it. But would be cool if you can tell us if such a behavior would bring the same error @geldnerd and I have.@geldnerd: Do you use feedzy functions in functions.php (feedzys implemented “hooks” or “filters” I think the correct name is, I mean these: https://docs.themeisle.com/article/540-what-actions-and-filters-are-available-in-feedzy, https://www.b-website.com/feedzy-rss-feeds-available-hooks-examples) to change the feedzy feed? We use some, I will give it a try without these changes soon. But I do not think this make issues, because we did not touch them for a long time, and also the error message is only on feedburner feeds.
For our blog, we still get the error on any feedburner feed.
In addition, the alternative RSS plug-in I use now has no problem with Feedburner feeds, on the same webserver where I previously ran Feedzy. The exact same feedburner feeds do not work with Feedzy and do work now.
@manni79 No, I did not use Feedzy functions in functions.php.
Hi @manni79,
@geldnerd helped us with debugging this issue and it was forwarded to our developers after we found more details about why this is happening.
We expect to have a fix in the next version of Feedzy (we don’t have a timeline for it though).
Thank you both for your patience and cooperation.
