    Hi
I get the error shown below. First time ive ever got this.
I moved this site yesterday to a new server but DNS seems to now be propagated so dont think thats the issue. No other caching is used.

Plugin is installed and site is going through cloudflare. So im not really sure how to tackle this error.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated !

    ERROR

Page caching seems not working for both dynamic and static pages.

Error on dynamic page (myokomountainlodge.com): The plugin is not detected on your home page. If you have activated other caching systems, please disable them and retry the test.

Error on static resource (myokomountainlodge.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudflare-page-cache/assets/testcache.html): Seem that your website is not behind Cloudflare. If you have recently enabled the cache or it is your first test, wait about 30 seconds and try again because the changes take a few seconds for Cloudflare to propagate them on the web. If the error persists, request support for a detailed check.

Please check if the page caching is working by yourself by surfing the website in incognito mode ’cause sometimes Cloudflare bypass the cache for cURL requests. Reload a page two or three times. If you see the response header cf-cache-status: HIT, the page caching is working well.

    Hi,
from what I can see the plugin is working perfectly on your website: https://i.imgur.com/iU7L2gI.jpeg

But still the cache status is showing as DYNAMIC. To further investigate that, can you share a screenshot of the Cloudflare Page Rule section from your Cloudflare dashboard?

its just set to cache all.
I also checked HTaccess file but there is nothing there either apart from info for this plugin.

on the old server it was using the siteground cache plugin. I don’t know if there is something remaining from that. The plugin has been deleted and the htacess looks clean.

As expected, the page rule is https:// while your site is https://. this is what creating the issue. The plugin takes the site URL from the WP Admin > General Settings Site URL section. So, maybe there your site URL is mentioned as https:// instead of https://.

Anyways, you can either fix it in the general settings section and then enable/disable cache or you can just edit the page rule added by the plugin and change https:// to https:// and your issue will be resolved.

    Hi
I was kind of wondering about that.
I changed it in the general settings, that then changed it on the cloudflare side as well.
I still get the same error, but when checking the cache seems to now show as a HIT so i guess its working.
Could you confirm that you see that too, if so then i guess i just ignore the error as it seems to be good.

Consider enabling Tiered cache from the Cloudflare dashboard – it will help.

I am resolving this thread now as your problem is now resolved.

Thank you for checking and helping me solve the issue.
    Already reviewed ??

    Hi Saumya

I read about your health problem and so I hope, first of all, that you are well.

My computer skills are very poor so I apologise in advance.

First I used the ‘All in One Migration’ plugin to copy a website (where your plugin works perfectly), then I installed your plugin and then activated cloudflare.
But it gives me the error: “The .htaccess file (/.htaccess) could not be edited. Check if the file has write permissions.”
Whoever manages the server, which is the same server as the site I exported from, did all the checks, including the permissions, and everything is OK.

Thank you. I appreciate the meeting to wish you a peaceful and healthy 2023 | Katia

    Hi @goldfinger1964,
When migrating a website never migrate the website with this plugin. Better to migrate the website without this plugin and then reinstall this plugin as freash after the migration.

Alternatively if you have migrated the website with this plugin, then delete the plugin on the migrated website and reinstall and setup the plugin as freash.

Thank you for your reply Saumya but unfortunately I have NOT solved it

I deleted your plugin first from the migrated site and then also from the “new” site.
On Cloudflare, for both websites, I clicked “Purge Everything”.

I installed your plugin first on the new site and Error: The .htaccess file (/.htaccess) could not be edited. Check if the file has write permissions.
Then I installed it on the migrated site and here, as before, everything is OK

    Hi @goldfinger1964,
if you are seeing “Error: The .htaccess file (/.htaccess) could not be edited. Check if the file has write permissions.” that means the issue is not with the plugin but rather your .htaccess file is not writable so the plugin cannnot add the codes that it needs. You need to make sure that your .htaccess file is writable and has at least 755 permission.
