Not Crawling some pages

I’ve done some testing.
I created a new wordpress instance and disabled all plugins.

I detected that the plugin here is 6.6.7 where I downloaded 7.0.0 alpha from your website.

Categories got fixed when I downgraded to 6.6.7 however pagination issue remains UNLESS I change the language of wordpress to English.

Sorry for the bugs. I’m working to get new builds of V6 and 7 out – 7 really needs a bit more work on the URL detection for multilingual.

Are you grabbing the zip https://github.com/WP2Static/simplerstatic/files/4638814/simplerstatic-0.2.zip ?

On that releases page, it shows 2, one which is compiled with everything needed, and the default GitHub one, which won’t work without compilation. That one linked above should work fine. It does require minimum PHP 7.3, though

Ah, I see in the error the path is simplerstatic-0.2, if the right zip, when you upload to via WordPress > Plugins > Add new > upload, it should be just simplerstatic, so that gives us a clue as to what’s happening…

I’m actually having the same issue. I’m using Polylang Pro as the multilingual plugin and I can see that some pages are in the Crawl Cache list but not in the Generated Static Site list. When I generate the site some of the translated pages are not there, for example the homepage. The Crawl Cache list has 3057 URLs while the Generated Static Site has 3035 URLs.

I’ve downloaded the Simpler Static 0.2v, installed it and set it up to give it a go. Once clicking on Generate it gets stuck. The spinning wheel just rotates on loop.

Is there any other fix for this? We are going live tonight with the static site..! Didn’t take this issue into account.

Hi @jclondon – eek! Let’s try this build, it’s latest of V6 with a *lot* of issues fixed, I tested on Polylang a few days ago and was fine:

Hi Leon, thanks a lot for v6 but unfortunately it didn’t work..! When clicking on the button to generate the static state it got stuck on the spinning wheel. If I tried with wp cli it said that wp2static was not a recognised keyword. So I had to get back to v7 since it was too late for debugging.

I figured out that the problem in v7 with the missing homepage in other languages with Polylang was because the homepage was set to Front Page. wp2static somehow didn’t like that so i made the home a regular page and created a template for it.

The site has been deployed to the bucket last night. Today is the marketing launch day! Fingers crossed.
