Not Comfortable Having to Provide my FTP/SFTP Credentials

    I opted not to even use this plugin given the fact that you have to provide your FTP/SFTP credentials for it to work. IMO, that’s a security issue and I’m not willing to accept it for the ease of testing my site migration prior to taking my site live.

    Perhaps I’m being simple minded, but why can’t the WordPress devs provide a field option to use for links so that you merely have to change that value?

    We want to inform you that the Update URLs plugin doesn’t ask you to share your FTP/ SFTP details.

    Maybe some other plugin asks you for that. Please confirm that you are using the Update URLs plugin.

    My sincere apologies. I’m in the process of switching hosting providers and my new hosting provider requires a setting in the wpconfig.php file to provide direct WordPress plugin installs.

    After adding the setting, I was able to install Update URLs plugin. I’ve updated my rating from 1 to 4 stars.

    Why I can’t give the plugin 5 stars…it didn’t change the URLs in the widgets and for the banner of my theme. I’m using the Ashe Blog Pro theme. Other than the theme issues, the plugin worked excellently. I was even able to find an image with an incorrect link that I wasn’t aware of.

    Glad to hear that you found the FTP/ SFTP issue.

    We will take a look at the issue that you mentioned about Widget and banner image and see why it’s not working.
