    Hello, Complianz team,

On the Elementor website, https://commonground-organisationsberatung.com/, the first section at the top of the front page has a YouTube video in the background:

    https://paste.pics/K19XU

During the Complianz setup wizard, I indicated that YouTube was on in third-party integrations, and also double-checked in the Integrations menu after the wizard was completed.

However, the background video (and along with it, Google Fonts) loads even before consent is given.

How would I go about blocking it?

I have cleared all cache, then disabled all caching features and the disabled the whole caching plugin altogether (WP-Optimize).

    Thanks!
    Matt.

@mrmatteastwood As Elementor uses a non standard embed for youtube, and also uses different methods for playlists, normal embeds, and in this case, a background, each requires a dedicated integration.

I will check if an integration can be made for the background, will get back to you on this.

@mrmatteastwood, I’ve made some adjustments to the elementor integration:

    https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/complianz-gdpr/tree/elementor-background-video

This now works for a video background on my testing environment. Let me know if this works for you as well!

    Hi Rogier,

I have the same problem with my page: https://tigges-group.com
I also have other pages with video backgrounds.

I’ve tried your adjustments but unfortunately didn’t work for me, can you help?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Rogier! Thanks for looking into this. I downloaded the code from the GitHub link you posted as a .zip, uploaded that to the website as a plugin, activated it and disabled the already installed version of Complianz. The result remains unchanged. Right now, the modified version is active on https://commonground-organisationsberatung.com/ and the video still plays before consent is given.

Hang on! My bad, it works! I accidentally deactivated the wrong plugin. You can visit the site right now and see it working.

Will this feature make it into an upcoming version of Complianz?

    Hi @mrmatteastwood,

Yes, the addition will be included in our testing routines, and will be included in an upcoming release afterwards. Keep an eye on the plugin changelog!

    Kind regards,

    Hi @lst123,

Could you confirm that you have the above branch from the GitHub link installed, and the “old” plugin deactivated? Please also verify that both the Elementor and YouTube integrations have been activated under Complianz > Integrations.

If your site uses the same “Video Background” block in Elementor as the original poster of this thread, it should work for you as well.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Sounds great, thanks! ?? I look forward to the upcoming version.

When it comes around, I guess it’s best to deactivate the interim version i have installed now, install and activate the official repo version and then delete the interim one, right?

    Hi @mrmatteastwood,

That would be fine indeed, the currently configured Complianz settings will persist in the database of your website.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

    Sorry for the late reply.

I have the old plugin deactivated, and both Youtube and Elementor is activated in Complianz settings.

It definetly does something with the video block but it looks like this: https://tigges-group.com/video/

    Thank a lot for checking!
