    Hello guys,
I have downloaded your plugin and set it up as in instructions. Countries that are on black list are DE,CH,SE,UK,ZZ – Germany,Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom and ZZ – for unknown countries. However, different friends from those countries are still able to access this site.

    Am I missing something?

Well I am about to block only front-end for some countries but it seems that I am in trouble ??

You will also get the problem, google will get a lot og 404 and rank Your website lower.

I don’t care about the google rank. It’s even better. This is small help desk which few workers in certain company should use only. I don’t want anyone outside of the country to read the content. (It’s not strictly hidden but it shouldn’t be shared to certain countries)

Well, then You maybe shall block in htascess.

In that case, It will be blocked for admins (from those countries) too…

    Hi @ex501 and @vedsegaard,

    Thank you for your discussing.

I think there’s 3 possible cases related to this issue.

The first one is misunderstanding of settings. “Validation rule settings” section configure the common settings for both back-end and front-end. If you want to block on front-end, then you also have to enable “Public facing pages” at “Front-end target settings” section. I think this is not your case.

The 2nd is the case of using cache plugin. “Living with caching plugin” describes about the restrictions on using caching plugin. I think you’re also OK about this.

The 3rd case is the issue about confusion of country code in EU. “2.1.5 Release Note” shows this issue. Maxmind has the highest priority by default but in this case, you may use IP2Location. So please try to uncheck Maxmind at “Geolocation API settings” section.

I hope this may help you to resolve your issue.

    Thanks guys!

    Additional information.

The default priority of Geolocation API is:

    1. Cache of IP address
    2. Maxmind
    3. IP2Location
    4. Others (random)

Actually “Others” have some limitation of access rate. So this plugin randomize the order of them so that the access to those APIs may be distributed.

Should I provide the UI to change the priority of 2 and 3?

    Any opinions are very welcome!

    Thanks.
