Not being recognised as admin

  • Recently installed a new WordPress theme and it’s plugins, hadn’t activate it but now WordPress won’t recognise my account (the admin account and only one) as administrator. I can’t do anything on the site now so it’s stuck in maintenance mode.

    Our hosting is through a third-party IT company who will charge us to restore the site, is there any other options?

    connect the website using FTP and look for. maintenance file on the server. Delete the file to regain access again.
