Not backing up every day

Hi,

If you go to the tab in the UpdraftPlus settings page that shows your existing backups, then which days is it showing backups for? Some, none, or all?

Under settings its showing daily, and retain 5 backups. Over the past week it has backed up:

Friday 8th August
Saturday 9th August
Tuesday 12th August
Wednesday 13th August
Friday 15th August

So it is backing up but just not daily. I’m using Amazon.

Hope that gives you the information you need but let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

OK, that’s helpful. Next: if you use FTP to go into wp-content/updraft, there should be a number of log files there. If you read the first two lines of each (to see the date), then are there any from the missing days?

I’ve just had a look using FTP and there are text files for the dates that it hasn’t backed up to Amazon (10, 11, 14). There are also a some zip files for these dates although there are only a couple for each date and not the usual 5 that are created.

Sorry to overlook this for so long.

I suspect that some other scheduled task in the WordPress scheduled tasks list is interfering. Try re-saving your UpdraftPlus settings, and this will cause the time of the daily backup to be changed to a new one (5 mins in the future – though may not happen until the next day if today’s has already happened). Then that may avoid the conflict.
