Some growing pains, but getting better.

  • WP Edit was unheard of until Ultimate TinyMCE suddenly died with WordPress 3.9. Users rushed to find an alternative, and WP Edit was the author’s other project that he recommended. This plug-in suffered five updates in the first two days after the launch, and it’s still got some issues. I rate it “good”, but it’s not nearly what Ultimate TinyMCE once was. I suspect it will be, given enough time towards development.

    I also put out numerous emails via my mailing lists. Did you subscribe to my free mailing list?? You know, the one on the Ultimate Tinymce main page? If you had, you would have known about this transition about four months ago.

    Regardless, please read my links above. I’m not trying to change your mind, you’ve already made that up ??

    But I think it would, at least, educate you on the many changes happening with WordPress and Tinymce… providing you with more “foundational” information as you begin your seek for a new editor.

    Tables, to begin with. Countless other buttons that are part of your paid ‘Pro’ version are free in TinyMCE Advanced.

    The exact same table button is in WP Edit (free version). They are both identical. Take a closer look.

    That isn’t very specific.. so I’m not quite sure how to respond here.

    I know Tinymce Advanced.. and I know it well. And I can ASSURE you the same default buttons available in Tinymce Advanced are also in the free version of WP Edit. The only three buttons he includes that I don’t are the cut, copy and paste buttons (which will soon be obsolete; at least they don’t work in any of my browsers).

    Regardless, I’m not here to debate. That’s why I deleted my comment above. I prefer to remain positive ??

    I wish you much success with Tinymce Advanced. I have MAD respect for Andrew, and you will be using an excellent product.
