    Hi,

I recently installed your plugin and I am really happy that I found it. Most of my images on website were converted to .webp extenstion and there are no problems.

However, I noticed that some of the images are not taken into consideration and wanted to know why plugin have not touched it.

In example here: https://imperiumromanum.pl/en/biographies/augustus/ – in the content – is the image of emperor Augustus which is still in .jpg extension. I checked in plugin options and this directiory is selected for converting (Uploads).

I did bulk optimization and says it is 100% completed. I wonder if maybe day-by-day plugin analysis the page and this image may be finally found? I found more such not converted examples, but noticed that sometimes there are appear around 50 new images for optimization per day in plugin.

    Appreciate your feedback.

    Thank you

    Jakub

    Hi @cosiek,

    Thank you for your message.

I suppose that your images have been optimized before and that’s why some of them after converting to WebP format are not smaller than the original ones. Therefore, the plugin loads original files instead of files.

Among others, the situation concerns these files::

    • SC17157.jpg
    • fresk-ukazujacy-czytajacego-chlopca.jpg
    • that_day2.jpg

In this situation, the solution will be to convert the images to the AVIF format – then definitely more images will be available in the new generation format.

I have made a calculation for you, which shows how much you can gain by converting individual images to the WebP format, and how much by converting individual images to the AVIF format.

I found more such not converted examples, but noticed that sometimes there are appear around 50 new images for optimization per day in plugin.

Regarding this question, please give me a list of images that appear in the plugin settings as unscanned. These are the full URLs to these images.

    Best,
    Mateusz

Thank you very much. So plugin just bypassed the images for which the change of format would cause increase of size. Makes sense.

Staying with .webp is fine for me.

    Thank you for explanation.

    All the best
