I have a new Woocommerce store using the Storefront theme. I have done no modifications to the site (other than in the Customize menu). I have four categories of products: books, ceramics, Christmas ornaments, and photos. The photos category does not appear on the home page, and the shop page only shows two categories (books and ceramics). How can I get all categories to appear on both pages? I don’t see a place to insert this information and I have the categories section turned on in the Customize menu.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @pegasuspress,

Do all of your categories have published products assigned to the categories? If a category is empty of products it will be hidden by default since there are no products to actually view in that category.

Yes. All of my categories have products associated with them and are live on the Woocommerce site.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

    Hi @pegasuspress

Are you using a shortcode to display the product categories on your homepage?

    Something like this?

    [product_categories limit="3" columns="3" orderby="menu_order"]

If that’s what you’re using, please make sure you have the limit set as something higher than 4 or they won’t all display.

So it would look like this:

    [product_categories limit="4" columns="4" orderby="menu_order"]

The shortcode works and shows the categories properly but the default for the store front page (which uses the settings under Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Product Catalog) still only shows the first 3 categories I added and I apparently cannot turn off these options and only use the shortcode. The setting I have under the Product Catalog page are Shop Page Display: Show Categories; Category Display: Show Products; Default Product Sorting: Default Sorting; Products Per Row: 4; Rows Per Page: 8.

Our front page with the problem is at MCHS Online Store

The Photos category which is missing from the Categories list can be seen here.

The page shows the categories (which only displays 3 of the 4 of them); an On Sale area; and a New In area. I’d be fine eliminating the New In area (and keep the On Sale area) but I’m missing my 4th category (photos) which you can see two examples of in the New In area. listed at the bottom.

I am using the Storefront theme from Woocommerce.

    Hey there!

The settings found in Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Product Catalog are not to modify your homepage, they would only modify the page found here: https://mitchellnchistory.org/online-store/shop/

For your homepage, the page template there is the Storefront Homepage template. It would display 3 categories, as you are seeing.

What I would recommend to change this page (your homepage) is to use the block editor to change it. There’s a specific guide to do this here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installation-configuration/#section-11

You can follow those steps to replicate it exactly, and just change it as you see fit (remove sections, show more categories, whatever you like)
