Not sure why it’s being unanswered for so long and needing me to repost.

    Hi,

I am attempting to enable Twitter Cards on my website but this plugin doesn’t seem to insert the required meta data to my site.

    Steps I followed:

Added my Twitter username in WordPress > Users > My Profile > Contact Info > Twitter username (without @)

Then enabled Twitter Social in WordPress > Yoast WordPress SEO: Social > Twitter >
    > Checked “Add Twitter card meta data”
    > Added my name at “Site Twitter Username:”
    > Chosen Summary in “The default card type to use:”

In my Twitter login, On Card Validator page, I created a new card.

When I navigate to my website, I don’t see any of the twitter tags added in my websites header portion.

Can you please let me know the possible fix for this.

  • The same thing is happening to me. Did you figure it out gunnalag? Perhaps this feature is deprecated or broken.

    Hi hyshka,

I learned that twitter cards are getting created for websites which have static page as their main page.

In my case, I’ve my card created by temporarily setting my main page to static page and when I set it back to a dynamic page, Twitter card fails to work.

To compare, you can check out my web site main page (https://www.gunnalag.com/) which doesn’t show up Twitter card tags but any of my article pages (say wp.me/p4zWHd-3rx) shows up twitter card tags.

However, if I go to my twitter card validator, there are no valid cards on my main page or on my article pages.

    Hey Gunnalag,

Thanks for the explanation, I can confirm the same results. I could always add the Twitter card data manually for the home page but I question if it’s really necessary. So I’ve decided to leave it for now.

    Regards,
    hyshka

I’m not sure if it is overly helpful, but I verified the card using an internal static page. And it worked. This may get you far enough along using the cards.
