Not actually changing broken links or text
-
I’m in the process of building my first WordPress site for a company. The first step of the process was to migrate the old site over, and one of the things I did as part of that was recreate the footer bar by hand, in order to make it as similar as possible.
We ended up changing some of the links on the website for the main pages that the footer linked to, and so I got this, thinking it would save me some time and trouble.
After having it scan my site, it gave me a list of the broken links, and I fixed them as such. However, after visiting the pages again, nothing seems to have changed, despite the link showing up as “200 ok.” One link redirects to the proper page, and the other link still gives a 404 error. Additionally, the text of what they should link to was changed as well (e.g. what said “Autonomous” should now read “Research and Development”), and I thought I could change that from the individual page, but instead it stays the same.
Since this is on a private test server until the process is finished, I can’t include a link to the site itself, however I can include screenshots (below)
The bar itself, saying “no errors”
What I have right now. The broken links says “Autonomous”
The link is displayed as a 404, but is not appearing in the queue. I know it said (multiple links) in greytext when showing the old link text, but when I entered in the new text to say “Research and Development” and use the new link, nothing happenedNothing has happened on any of the other pages, either. I’ve tried the nuclear option once, and it was not fixed.
Possibly relevant plugins:
SiteOrigin Page Builder is a pagebuilder I use for layout managing on the website
Black Studio TinyMCE is the widget I use in tandem with Page Builder to create the pages
IE Enhancer/Modernizer probably isn’t the problem, but I’ll throw it out there anyways
