Not able to use any widget in "home", "home left", etc.

    I need a gallery slideshow on the home page, but for some reason I cannot get any widget to work in any position on my website. I’ve tried a simple text widget, featured page widget, FLAgallery widget, etc. Nothing shows up. I have my read settings on “static page” and I’m using the Genesis Framework (Lifestyle child template). I hope this is enough information to get an answer. Thanks.

  • I believe the Genesis framework has a home.php file so reset your read settings to the default non static homepage and then set your home widgets and see how that works.

    That works James, but how can I have the static home page I want with the gallery rotator at Home Left? When I take it off of “static” I just have a blank page, because I’ve made pages, but no posts. I don’t want posts on the home page. Thanks.

    Honestly, I’m not sure I will be any more help on this since I’ve never actually used the Genesis framework. I only knew about the home.php issue from a recent discussion.

    I’m sure that there is a way of accomplishing what you want with the Framework because I hear it’s very good. I’m just not familiar enough with it to give you any further direction.
