In your dashboard page there is a widget named Right Now. It shows the number of posts, pages, categories , etc. In the last line of the widget you can see the WordPress version. Something like this:

    You are using WordPress 3.3.2.

hi my version is 2.9.1, currently all pictures except the small one on the front page will upload, the small one on the front page is needed to bring in the punters, at settings yes is clicked for first picture to be uploaded to front page ? I`m also looking for documentation on how to use version 2.9.1, I had this website made for me and my website manager will not help out with such thanks for your help

Before you expend any energy trying to fix a problem, update to the latest version of WordPress – 3.4.2. THEN you can test you page and if any ‘problems’ manifest themselves, you can get to work resolving them.

when I upgrade do I need to save the whole website content ? If so what is the best way to save it all ?

This should help you with updating:

Updating to the current version of WordPress will NOT impact your content.

You will likely also have to update the theme as the version you are using is also outdated by 3 years:

    https://www.appthemes.com/themes/classipress/

and if you have made any changes to any theme files without using a child theme or custom CSS method, your changes will be lost. Since that’s a commercial theme, you need to get help from the vendor.
