• Hi Team,

I am having trouble with the wordpress updates and old plugins update. When I am trying to update our old wordpress version from 4.9.9 to latest 5.4.1, I got below error:
“The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.: wp-admin/includes/update-core.php”.

Same with the old plugins also, because a few days before I have installed 2 new plugins through an admin dashboard and it will get installed properly. And when I got an updated version from one of that (recent) plugin, it was getting updated too.

So, I have a problem with my old plugins only and wordpress version too.

What could be the root cause of it? Suggest

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Did you look at the permissions?

This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.: wp-admin/includes/update-core.php”.

Do the permissions on that file differ from those on one of the directories under wp-content/uploads?

Sorry for the delay to reply.
    Actually I don’t have ftp/sftp access. I had only wp-admin access.

So, Is there any way to resolve my issue through wordpress admin?

    Thanks in advance.
