    hi
We try to set the plugin into our dev env for our WP site but when pressed test config button it shows the window with the error in the url tab for unauthorized client, but the details on the settings such client id and client secret are correct from our application.
See the screenshots from the links from the settings panel, the window after pressed Test Config button and the setups in our app that we try to connect WP to it with use of the plugin

Can you help us to do the correct settings so we can start to use the plugin, please?
    Best,
    Ilian

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I have checked the screenshot you shared. In the third screenshot, where you have configured the developer application at the Identity provider end, you have selected the authorization grant type as the client credential. The WordPress SSO plugin’s free version only supports the Authorization Code Grant; other grant types are supported in the paid version. So, to test SSO, please change the authorization grant type at the Identity provider end to Authorization Code grant. Please try it and let me know if it works.

You can also send us a query through the support form inside the plugin so that we can reach out to you via email for better assistance and a faster response.

    Thank you

    Thank you for your reply
i did the change you mention and now test config shows another error.
Screenshot from changed things in the app and what shows the window now on press test config

I thought the error was because the Scope field on the configuration was empty as you can see from the first screenshot but even after I added some text on this field, as how I saw on the setups video is done from your plugin page just the field should be some text but that not fix the error.
Added text to Scope field- https://ibb.co/PmHstG6
    What i did wrong?

When you said – “You can also send us a query through the support form inside the plugin”
Do you mean the form from the screenshot below that is in the settings on WP admin for the plugin?
    https://ibb.co/vZQZVFt
Because if I press on the button at the right top from the screenshot with text- Ask questions on our forum, it takes me to this forum and support here.
I can set admin access to your dev env. which is the place where we try to get it the plugin to work before to use on our prod, So you or someone from your support to review all configs.
I see also you will get the configs if I send support mail via the form I mentioned and show on the screenshot above if I am right.

Thanks again for the fast reply
    Best,
    Ilian

    Hello @ilianskia,

We have received your query, and our representative requests your availability to schedule a meeting.

Regarding the scope, I am assuming that after entering the scope login and OAuth, it is still showing you either an incorrect scope or an invalid scope field. This is because each IDP accepts a predefined scope which is mentioned in their documentation. Probably the scopes you are using are not the correct scope for your custom IDP.

I would request you to share the documentation of your IDP in our ongoing conversation over email and also share your availability so that we can assist you with the setup of the plugin.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you,

    hi
i’ve reply to your support email
No matter the field Scope is left empty or added some text as Scope
the error is same- invalid scope.
If left emtpy it not loads any predeffined details of scope from IDP.
i tried added email and username as scope text but the result is still same
    invalid scope !
    Please reply to my email.
    Thanks

    Hello @ilianskia

Our email conversation has been ongoing. During your meeting with our engineer, we updated the scope to “read write”, enabling successful token endpoint requests. However, we encountered an issue with the user info endpoint, where the correct user information was not returned. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the OAuth server, built using the Django toolkit, is not providing accurate information. Your team is currently addressing this matter, and once resolved on your end, you will be able to configure SSO on WordPress site.

If you have managed to set it up successfully, please inform us. Should you require further assistance, feel free to respond here or continue our ongoing conversation via email.

    Thank you.
